Fregate is an exclusive and owner-managed island, spanning 200 hectares — the size of Monaco — with just 17 Fregate Villas and Estates and 7 beautiful beaches.
Only 10% of Fregate is developed. 90% remains preserved conservation land. Access to the island is reserved exclusively for island guests.
02 — Residences
Iconic architecture and design with rooflines inspired by the wings of the frigatebird. Sculptural forms that blend into the island's landscape.
Fregate Villas and Estates range from 5 to 10 rooms, include a kitchen and are designed for couples, families, and multi-generational stays. Each can be configured to your preferences.
Each Fregate Villa comes with a dedicated 24/7 butler and your own buggy for exploring the island at your pace.
Flexible layouts allow adaptation of spaces into an additional bedroom or study or private wellness and fitness room. The Fregate Villas include separate accommodations for your own nanny or other personal staff.
Fregate Estates have been designed for multigenerational gatherings or groups of friends and have professional kitchens, dedicated chefs upon request, and additional personal staff accommodation as well.
03 — Conservation
Fregate is home to extraordinary biodiversity and one of the Indian Ocean's most ambitious island restoration projects. Now, more than 3000 Aldabra giant tortoises roam free, from an original 150.
After 50 years of ecological restoration and species protection, Fregate Foundation's research and conservation initiatives encompass a further 100-year vision, safeguarding the island for future generations.
Over 40 bird species have been restored, including 9 endemic to the Seychelles. The Seychelles Magpie Robin, once the world's second-rarest bird, with only 14 remaining and all living on Fregate, was brought back from the brink of extinction through conservation work on the island, with a number of Magpie Robins later donated for re-introduction to surrounding islands.
Fregate's beaches serve as a nesting ground for approximately 1% of the global population of critically endangered Hawksbill sea turtles.
